traveling japan: vibrant city Osaka day 1

ARRIVED IN OSAKA
DAY 1-CLOUDY DAY

We arrived Osaka around 5 o'clock at noon. We got to umeda JR station and change line to go to fukushima station for our hostel check in.

Compare to the atmosphere in Kyoto, Osaka has a more vibrant and lay back atmosphere. You will see people seating around the stair at umeda building complex.
there's also plenty of street performances around here. Its really a good place to just pass your afternoon here.

we arrived at Fukushima Station and dragged our luggage to the hostel, the neighborhood around the hostel is really cozy, lots of snack shops, bars, and restaurants.

After we checked in, we go straight to Namba Station to go to the famous Dotonbori. But before  that we need to change the train station at Noda Station to Tamagawa Station , we were pretty hungry at that time and there's a food vendors at the side of the Noda Station that sells Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, and Yakisoba. the smell of food filled the air and we can't really ignore our grumbling tummies, so we stopped by to have a "little" snack.

The takoyaki taste all right, its so big that its fall apart when we pick it up. As for the okonomiyaki, the first bite is really good, but after a couple mouthful it became to much for me. My favorite is the yakisoba, its so good, i can't have enough for it, the sauce for all three is the same, but i think its best suited with the yakisoba.

what we plan to have just a little food turned out to be a giant feast. we were so full, and later on we were regreting it, because when we arrived at the Dotombori, there's many restaurants with their tasty looking foods.

you could find anything here, from arcades, ramen shops, sushi bars, BBQ places, karaoke bars, retail shops even food stalls along the road of Dotonbori.

Dotonbori is famous for it hundreds of neon lights and mechanized signs, including the famous Glico Running Man sign and Kani Doraku crab sign. It best seen at night.

most of the shop and restaurant here open 24 hours everyday (i think)
